The 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration, where these awards were given, emphasized the importance of sustainable agrifood production for food sovereignty, shared growth, resilience, and green jobs. The event was attended by prominent figures, including President John Dramani Mahama, who commended Ghanaian farmers for their dedication and pivotal role in advancing the country’s economic recovery .

Gorkpara Farms is a behemoth in the agricultural sector! With its main farm in Jirapa Municipal and sub-farms in DBI district, the farm has diversified its operations to include:
- Over 500 acres of maize farm
- Over 400 acres of sorghum
- Over 3 acres of cashew plantation
- Over 30 acres of yam farm
- Livestock:
- Over 180 cattle
- 150 sheep
- 100 goats
- Over 200 fowls (local and poultry)
